Need someone who can hit the ground running

Our client is a logistics company based on the outskirts of Leeds and has been providing same-day delivery courier, haulage, retail installation and EPoS Installation services to companies throughout the UK and Europe for over a decade.

Having experienced considerable growth over the past 12 months, our client is now looking to recruit an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to maintain the Company Purchase Ledger in respect of all payments of invoices in a professional and timely manner. You will need to liaise with both internal and external customers to ensure queries and issues are resolved effectively and provide any support required to the Finance Manager.You will also provide cover for the Sales Ledger Clerk so experience in this area would be ideal.

On a day-to-day basis the role will involve the following:-

·To ensure that the Purchase Ledger is accurately maintained and payment dates are met

·To accurately upload all supplier invoices onto the system

·To ensure suppliers and all sub-contractors are paid in accordance with agreed terms and conditions, or in accordance with best practice

·To ensure good internal control with respect to the Purchase Ledger function by ensuring that purchase orders are raised and signed by the appropriate signatories, PO’s are attached to invoices for payment and invoices signed by the appropriate signatories

·Investigate and resolve purchase ledger queries as required

·To reconcile supplier statements to supplier purchase ledger accounts

·Ensure prompt filing of supplier invoices

·To liaise with suppliers concerning invoice queries

Our client is looking for a candidate who has proven Purchase Ledger and ideally, Sales Ledger experience along with a strong customer service focus, the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to deadlines. The desire to progress and develop with the company is essential as this is a rapidly expanding and changing company. Ideally (but not essentially) you will have knowledge of Sage accounting package and a sound working knowledge of MS Windows-based software packages, including Word and Excel.

The hours of work are 9:00am to 5:00pm (with a degree of flexibility) with an hour for lunch and the salary is circa £20000 dependent upon experience.
