The group are a family owned company based in South West London that have been committed to serving the construction industry for 40 years. The company initially concentrated on supplying labour to the construction industry and then focused on local civil engineering contracts, providing expertise for public utilities such as gas, water, sewers, highways drainage and ducting for the electric and telecommunications industry.
About the role
The Company has rebuilt their Commercial Team and there is now an opening for a commercial manager to support the head of commercial but also look after a small team of quantity surveyors and senior quantity surveyors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs across multiple projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. You will be involved with the reviewing, evaluation and delivery of payments as well as developing client relationships. The projects that you will be involved in will include utility projects such as water main repairs, main drainage and Water main laying and new service connections. You’ll be leasing with Southern Water so it’s important you’ve got experience working within water.
You will undertake general surveying of projects as required, which will include reviewing and pricing variations and preparing valuations for the respective Project Manager and Commercial Director.

About the requirements:
You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying.
To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a commercial manager within Civil Engineering for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company. Your work history should be stable; ideally you should have worked at your previous companies for a number of years.
A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
