Leak Detection Engineer ( Plumbing/ Heating/ Service)


Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

£25,000 to £30,000 per annum + Van (Not for personal use) + Company Uniform + Company Mobile.

Service Engineer required for a niche and very successful leak detection company. You will receive excellent training on thermal imaging, acoustics and other detection techniques. This is a great opportunity for plumbers to get off the tools and work in a more specialised detection environment.

The successful candidate will have experience in a leak detection, plumbing, heating or drainage environment. You will preferably be qualified with an NVQ in plumbing and be mechanically minded. You will be happy to work in a service role, usually covering a patch with a 3 hour drive radius. You will be enthusiastic and logical in your detection skills.

Your role will include working in a variety of domestic, commercial and industrial environments using a variety of detection techniques to pinpoint the source of the leak. 90% of your work will be detecting water based leaks. You will on average work 2 to 3 jobs per day each ranging from between 2 or 5 hours. This is a very niche market and so you will be providing a premium level of service to customers. You will be required to fill out detailed reports for each job and send them back to office on the same day.

The company are a specialist in their area and provide a premium detection service to their clients. You will initially receive an intensive week long training before being shadowed by a senior engineer until you are confident enough to work alone. Interviews will be held at company headquarters.

The Role:

* Accurately locating hidden leaks.

* Creating an in depth survey and report of the visit.

* Customer facing role.

* Covering a local patch – very occasional stay away may be required.

The Person:

* Experience in a leak detection, plumbing or drainage environment.

* Mechanically minded.

* NVQ in plumbing beneficial.

* Logical with keen observation skills.

* Full UK Driving Licence.
