Finance Analyst Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) | Burton-on-Trent | £35,000 - £45,000

Macildowie is currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work for a well known Burton based business with a national presence.

This job has the potential to progress over time. You will be someone who has excellent attention to detail and a hard-working attitude. You will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting to deliver insight and support senior stakeholders with decision making. The Finance Analyst Job reports into the Senior Finance Manager and you will work as part of our financial planning and analysis team. You will form strong credible partnerships with key stakeholders in the business, providing robust commercial analysis that drives forward our customer offer, enhancing company performance and delivers increased profitability while working closely and building deep relationships with the Financial Leadership Team and Executive.

So what is the job?

  • Reporting - Complete month end reporting reviewing figures by department and flagging any anomalies or unusual activity.
  • Partnering - Act as a partner to business directors to assist in the growth and increased activity of the departments.
  • Analysing - Develop a range of reporting and metric analysis for relevant departments including data on pipeline, performance and progress towards target.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting - Review and amend forecasts on a monthly basis taking into account any new business or changes to services. Take part in end of year budgeting, and any amendments to the budget required throughout the year.

What are you like?

You will be Qualified or a Finalist in a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. You'll also be someone who loves to be in the detail, with a strong experience in budgeting and forecasting and strong organisational skills. You will have the ability to work at pace and remain consistent under pressure. You will be proactive in your approach to work with the ability to identify issues and drive actions quickly. A strong set of software skills including Excel is essential.
