Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer

Global Manufacturer

Three shift rota pattern. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance on machines and equipment, and responding to emergency machine and equipment break downs throughout the plant. The successful candidate will have involvement with new design, installation and movements of existing machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose. £28,745 +overtime

Design, promote and carry out preventative maintenance

    Installation of new machines and equipmentOverhaul, upkeep and repair of all plant machineryElectrical installationReview and advise on engineering requirements and drawings
·Maintenance Engineer will work with and install single phase / three phase electrical circuits

    Actively promote safe working practicesWork with and coordinate contractors
·Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requested and pre-determined specifications

·Fault finding, testing and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts

    Where a detailed specification is not provided determine the cause of the fault and then undertake the most cost effective solution to remedy the defectEffective communication including keeping management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when requiredAny other duty as may be required commensurate with the grading of the post and the skill of the post holder
Key Requirements: Maintenance Engineer

·Team working and collaborative with the ability to lead and contribute to a team

·Ability to work on own initiative

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to communicate at all levels of the business and with key partners, suppliers and contractors

·Systematic approach to problem solving with the ability to implement corrective and preventative actions

    ·Strong decision-making skills

    Experience of machine installation, overhaul and repairExperience of working with and installing single phase/three phase electrical circuits Knowledge and experience on a wide range of machines
The successful candidate will be qualified to HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Travel to work from Ebbw Vale, Pontypool, Cwmbran, Newport, Hereford, Merthyr
