We are a manufacturing company supplying specialist telecoms & security products to the global Oil & Gas & Defense industries. As part of our growth we need to employ another Commissioning Engineer. The main purpose of the role is to perform a wide range of site commissioning tasks to fulfil our post delivery services.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
• Undertake pre-site visit briefings with Project Engineers
• Travel to site at global locations
• Liaise with client’s site representatives to understand status of installation & scope of work
• Undertake on site H&S training
• Undertake survey of system installation to ensure that it is ready for commissioning
• Undertake inspection of installed equipment to ensure that it has been correctly installed – especially equipment that is certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
• Pre-commissioning activities to ensure that the equipment can be safely energised
• Carry out commissioning activities to prepare the system for Site Acceptance Test
• Undertake Site Acceptance Testing with the client
• Liaise with Project Engineer to ensure that any changes required on site are authorised
• Undertake minor modification works
• Document any changes made during installation & commissioning activities
• Document any information as requested by the Project Engineer
• Undertake training for system operators & maintainers
• Complete site reports & time sheets so that commercial requirements can be met
• Undertake site debrief with Project Engineer
• Undertake any technical or H&S training required
• Ensure that the requirements of the company ISO 9001 quality system are adhered to at all times
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with our policies in respect of H&S

Preferred Educational Qualifications & Experience
• Computer skills & knowledge of relevant software especially MS Word & Excel, Viso & possibly Auto CAD
• Technical Engineering qualification in electrical/electronic engineering discipline or relevant industry experience
• Hands on experience of installed equipment
• Experience in a similar role or through education
