OverviewTo support the management of the commercial contract. We will potentially offer a training contract to the right candidate to become a fully-fledged lawyer and, as such, we consider this to be a huge selling point in the external market!!Job descriptionTo support the Client to ensure compliance with contractual requirements e.g. fulfilling JSP commitments across the operation and ensuring flow down terms are incorporated into suppliers’ contracts. Bridge between Client's legal team, finance, procurement and compliance.Your tasks and responsibilitiesProvide advice on contract development and commercial / operational requirements. Working across multi-disciplined teams to ensure contractual obligations can be met Engage requisite areas of the business as required supporting with business unit projects & communication initiatives. Dealing with routine contract queriesReview Ts&Cs of contracts and supporting documentation, to ensure a balanced achievement of: Internal & external controls compliance in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)Ensuring contractual requirements can be fulfilled Customer requirements Subcontractor requirements Facilitate authorisation for contracts via the contract approval processes, escalating as necessary. Act as a centre of competence for engagement with customers & subcontractors and ‘back-to-back’ negotiations. Support the continuous development of the contract approval processes/roles. Ensuring that tenders, bids, evaluation of proposals, negotiation, and award of contracts are performed in accordance with the customer’s contract procedures.Ensuring that the successful bidder provides adequate insurances that comply with client’s requirements, the regulations and the scope of work.Arranging, minuting and ensuing action of matters arising from meetings for all contracts ensuring the attendance of all stakeholders, in accordance with client’s procedures.Administration of executed contracts of varying values and complexity, confirming the compliance of the contractors / consultants, or taking actions to ensure compliance with, the contract terms and conditions and alignment with agreed business deliverables.Managing and administering any changes and quality issues through the customer’s contractual processesIssuing correspondence reports showing both incoming / outgoing correspondence, actions required owners and status, to include status of responses in accordance with the contract Period of Reply.Establishing an adequate records management system so that the management team uses it to furnish a written record of contract execution, compliance and changeEnsuring that any additional work / cost and or time change to the original scope is properly authorised in advance before issuing a change order(s)Your skills and experienceDegree educated – business or law would be particularly advantageousProven experience in contract and commercial managementExposure in a client facing role – contract management experience requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills at individual, team and group level and equally comfortable and effective in communicating with front line staff, managers and directorsAbility to systematically analyse complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutionsStrong organisational and interpersonal skillsAbility to present to and influence Senior Management and Senior ClientsAbility to establish and maintain solid, trusting working relationships internally and externally Collaborative working style with demonstrated track record of building consensus and achieving innovation and resultsFull security clearance is required for this post.
