Salary: £21-£23k depending on experience

Our client has been sourcing, roasting, living and loving good coffee since 2001. They have gone from strength to strength over the last few years, in doing so they want to ensure their credit control team grows at the same rate. Credit control team is an integral part of their business that sits within finance and the right candidate will need to maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. They are looking for a credit controller who is well organised, a self-starter, disciplined with a can-do attitude who can hit the ground running as soon as possible

Key Responsibilities

  • Posting and allocating daily cash receipts on sales ledger
  • Assist in setting up new customer accounts
  • Carry out credit checks on potential new customers
  • Meet daily/weekly cash collection targets set by Financial Controller
  • Ensure all account balances are collected within agreed customer terms
  • Chasing of overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
  • Maintaining regular contact with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness
  • Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
  • Propose write-off of irrecoverable receivables
  • Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
  • Uploading customer invoices on various procurement portals

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Credit Control role
  • A-level or AAT equivalent
  • Confident in using Sage 200 accounting package
  • Intermediate level MS Office user (MS Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work in a team and individually
  • To be able to confidently speak to customers on the phone and pursue debts whilst maintaining a business relationship and a high level of professionalism
