We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer in the Preston area.

You will be a Multi Skilled Engineer with both electro and mechanical skills

As a Maintenance Engineer you will need to have:

  • You will be required to demonstrate a flexible attitude to your day to day duties including cover for your colleagues when they are absent or called away.
  • Ensuring that machine and ancillary equipment tools are kept and maintained correctly.
  • you will work in an environment with moving machinery and with a constant level of noise while the machines are powered up or running.
  • As a Maintenance Engineer you are expected to be self-reliant, able to take decisions quickly on your own behalf, and to distinguish situations where problems should be referred to a Departmental or Senior Manager.
  • You must show an ability to be able to follow internal procedures, written and verbal instructions and be able to communicate machine or breakdown situations effectively to your colleagues and the opposite shift personnel
  • 17th Edition trained

  • IPAF trained
  • Electrical with Mechanical Experience 70/30 split.
  • Must have experience working in a factory environment.
  • Ideally have machine installation experience, panel building/ fault finding, a can do hands on approach,
  • General day at the moment would be fault finding and repair, motor gear boxes, clutch and brakes, machinery disconnection, ducting modification, machinery relocation.
  • Flexible to work overtime.
  • Details of the role:

  • Pay: £30,000 a year plus overtime
  • Working Hours: Shift work Monday - Friday 6am - 4pm for 2 weeks and 8pm - 6am for 2 weeks rotation

  • Demonstrate good communication skills and have a 'can do' attitude to the job.

  • To repair and maintain all factory equipment safely and efficiently.

  • To maintain equipment in accordance with agreed schedules.

  • To ensure the service and work area is kept clean and tidy.

  • To ensure all H&S, hygiene and quality control procedures are adhered to.

  • To ensure all admin procedures, factory and machine documentation/drawings are updated, stored and readily available.

  • To act in accordance with the applicable Health & Safety policies and precautions, with particular regards to the Electrical Security and Safety Regulations.
