Our client, resellers of a huge range of electrical products to the wholesale trade is to appoint an Engineering Coordinator based on site in Manchester in their Energy Division. They deal exclusively with the trade, all the products they sell carry a full manufacturer's warranty, with many available for immediate delivery.

You will be planning the daily workload for engineers, supporting the team of Field Engineers and Subcontractors, ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are met, providing technical support clients, Field Engineers, Sales staff and Subcontractors.

The role is mainly office based, some site visits may be required, and you may have to stay away occasionally. There will be some involvement with introduction of a new fleet support service system, helping with stock control and ordering of components. There will also be some simple repairs required (training provided).

Main responsibilities include:

  • Planning installations, annual service visits, breakdowns, chargeable work. Organizing accommodation.
  • Preparing, sending & modifying Risk Assessments & Method Statements etc. to all customers pre-installation.
  • Handling engineer’s queries as they arise.
  • Raising job costings and invoices on job completion.
  • Responding to customer queries and resolving problems.
  • Ensuring all field jobs run smoothly
  • Implementing positive change and procedures
  • Assist in managing the subcontractor relationships
  • Provision of 2nd line support to Field Engineers, Sales and Subcontractors.
  • Complying with health and safety policy and legislation.
  • The successful candidate will:

  • Have GCSE/A Level (English)
  • Customer Service/Support Experience
  • Be IT literate
  • Have the ability to liaise with customers when under pressure.
  • Be organised & able to respond to constantly changing situations.
  • Have knowledge of installation practices and/or heating & ventilation systems.
  • Have the ability to read a schematic & work out job requirements.
  • Be motivated
  • Be flexible
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be of smart appearance
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Have a full UK Driving License
  • It may be an advantage if you had:

  • Previous engineering/electrical experience
  • Experience as a Field Engineer with customer service experience
  • In return our client offers a basic salary of £17,000 - £18,000
