Bouygues Energies & Services Infrastructure currently has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer with highways and motorways works experience to join our team on a project in Coventry (M6) area.

We provide a comprehensive range of infrastructure solutions within the urban and inter-urban environment. We work across street lighting, smart city and smart motorway transport solutions. This includes Highway Lighting, CCTV, EV charge points, Wi-Fi systems, Energy Connections and more.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for daily organisation of operational teams on a highways project.

Duties and responsibilities of Project Engineer will involve:

• Ensuring that all work is carried out to contract specifications and is authorised and documented in accordance with company procedures
• Ensuring that all customer queries are appropriately processed, recorded and resolved within the time scales required and repeat works are minimised
• Providing technical support to Project Manager and Supervisor in regards to specification requirements and industry regulations, guidance and best practises
• Ensuring that all members of staff carry out their duties in a safe manner, in compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and site specific Risk Assessment
• Issuing planning and operational documents to supervisors to ensure work teams are deployed to correct locations and with all required information to carry out their works safely and economically
• Being responsible for daily updating of as built drawings both manually and electronically
• Building and maintaining partnership relationships with the client representatives on site.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential
• Able to read schematic and electrical drawings
• Must have strong organisational skills and methodical approach
• Possess good working knowledge of Motorway works H&S requirements
• Flexible approach to working, with the ability to adapt to change where required
• Understanding of NEC3 form of contract is desirable
• Understanding of BS7671 regulations is an advantage
• Must have driving licence
