Robert Half is working exclusively with a key employer based in Bristol (Hengrove). Following significant growth within the organisation they have created an opportunity to start ASAP within their Finance Team - the role will be working as a Payroll Officer to join their business.

Role

Reporting into the Financial Controller you will form part of a very well organised, friendly and efficient finance department.

Role: Payroll Officer

Location: Bristol - Hengrove

Duration: Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £10 - £12ph plus holiday pay

Reporting into the Financial Controller you will be responsible for:

  • Working with our outsourced payroll provider to ensure they have all required information for hourly paid and salaried workers on a monthly basis
  • Maintenance of employee allowances including car allowances, deductions and other adjustments
  • Overall responsibility for payroll & expenses based in the Bristol office
  • In addition to the core payroll function, the payroll administrator is also responsible for maintaining personnel files, processing leaver and joiner information and paperwork, issuing new contracts, and picking up all payroll-related queries from the workforce
  • Maintenance of standing personnel data in the underlying accounting system, including tax code information and liaising with HMRC as necessary
  • On a monthly basis maintain holiday accrual and holiday taken, maintain Nest pension scheme, manage staff transfers between stores and work closely with the operational team to review pay variances at employee level
  • Ongoing responsibility for process and team evolution

Profile

To be considered you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar payroll capacity
  • Able to work with tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Able to communicate with a range of stake holders
  • Strong IT skills including Excel
  • Cheerful / Outgoing and friendly personality
