The business are a multi-billion pound organisation who are true experts in their market, supplying into a diverse range of technology sectors including automotive, chemical and materials.
This newly created role involves leading a team of 7 NPI Quality Engineers to focus on delivering new products, equipment and processes. You must also ensure the Operations Project Engineering department is compliant with company and customer Quality Management systems. Last year the company had 50 new products go through the factory, which means this is an exciting and varied role – and a key position within the organisation!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all functional activity for the NPI Quality team – including capability development, objective setting and providing technical lead
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the team of NPI Quality Engineers
  • Use technical knowledge to resolve complex issues to minimise impact/risk to business
  • Manage Quality Engineering aspect of NPI programmes throughout the team
  • Develop and ensure strategies are in place to ensure compliance as appropriate
  • Contribute to project planning
  • Maintain resource allocation of the NPI Quality Team – scheduling, organising and controlling allocation of resource
  • Day to day people management, ensuring objectives are set for team members, reviewed and action taken to meet set targets

The Successful Candidate:
  • Experienced within the Automotive industry would be ideal. Any of the following sectors will also be considered: Chemical, Process, Aerospace, medical devices or high technology industries
  • Must have a strong background in quality with the following systems: ISO16949, ISO14001 and ISO18001
  • Strong leader of people, 60% of the role will involve people management, development and leadership. Experience in leading and motivating a technically competent team is a must.
  • Experience of new product, processes and equipment introductions
  • Degree qualified within a physical sciences or engineering related field, or commensurate experience
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak to stakeholders at all levels
