Technical Sales Engineer, Competitive Salary DOE - Chelmsford
In addition to a basic salary our client pays commissions on achieved bookings and level of profit of each order.
Our Client is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer / Account Manager who has proven experience in selling optoelectronic components whilst retaining a technical understanding of the products.
The ideal candidate needs proven experience in selling optoelectronic components whilst retaining a technical understanding of the products within the customers' applications. Optional knowledge specialities would include;
a) laser optics and optical filters,
b) fibre optics,
c) UV and visible photodiodes and laser didoes,
d) laser diode modules and optical metrology, and
e) IR components.
It is necessary to exude excitement and enthusiasm in successfully selling to leading edge technology industries including aerospace, communication, medical, petrochemical, pollution monitoring, power generation, space, steel, transport, universities and research.
You would describe yourself as outgoing and be able to relate to customers with an infectious manner, whilst being systematic, predictable and able to focus on detail to ensure target sales are achieved and work harmoniously within the team. Whilst you will have proven qualifications in a related discipline you will be keen to learn more about the products we sell.
The role is primarily office based in Chelmsford (Mo-Fr), with monthly customer visits and occasional exhibition attendance duties, and with an emphasis on talking to customers followed by an email summary.
- Min 2 years' experience in selling optoelectronic components
- Technical understanding of the products listed above
- Preferably a physics or other equivalent degree
