I am recruiting a Head of Engineering for a global manufacturer to be based at its facility in the West Midlands. You will take full responsibility for leading the Engineering function as part of the senior leadership team.

Client Details

My client is a globally recognised PLC with a leading product range which are supplied across a large range of engineering environments. They are looking for a Head of Engineering to join the senior leadership team and help drive the business to meet an extremely demanding order book.


As Head of Engineering it will be your job to lead the Manufacturing and Engineering team and provide leadership in the development of manufacturing processes and information required to fulfil the targeted delivery requirements of the business.

The role requires strategic project planning, effective teamwork, clear communication skills, practical problems solving skills, initiative, intelligent judgement, a flair for people management and an over-riding focus on the quality of product we manufacture.

You will take responsibility for the maintenance team to ensure that plant and machinery are maintained to the highest possible standards.

The role is also responsible for overseeing all engineering projects with the support of various operational functions.


  • The Ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, however candidates educated to HNC level and with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral

  • Must be able to negotiate at all levels within the business

  • Be able to lead from the front

  • Have integrity within the role

  • Demonstrate a track record of managing a dynamic multi-disciplined engineering team.

  • Experience in the implementation of a process based quality system

  • Passion for people development activity, coaching and mentoring new talent.

Job Offer

£60,000 - £70,000 plus benefits.
