Job Details

37.5 hours per week (Additional hours as required)

Working as a Trainee Test Engineer within our Doors and Windows laboratory based in Wednesbury, you will be working alongside a passionate, enthusiastic team of technical experts. Your main responsibilities will include but not limit: -

  • Ensuring that testing undertaken by the laboratory is carried out in accordance with customer’s requirements in a timely manner
  • Supporting the laboratory manager in ensuring all relevant requirements are adhered to
  • Installing test samples into test rigs
  • Manufacturing test blocks and fixtures
  • Testing doors & windows & associated hardware to variousspecifications and standards including burglar resistance, weathertightness and operational strength
  • Preparing and compiling test reports when required
  • Adhering to regulations and laboratory policies regarding health and safety
  • Maintaining accurate and systematic records in accordance with documented procedures
  • Ensuring all Quality and H&S procedures are fully adhered to
  • Maintaining clean and hygienic working environment
  • Ensuring Health & Safety is enforced in working areas
  • Ensuring Exova Quality System is enforced in working areas, including maintenance of equipment

What Are We Looking For

  • A good general education including English, Maths and Sciences
  • Experience of operating simple workshop machinery or manufacture/installation of doors and windows
  • Laboratory/quality control experience (not essential as full training will be provided)
  • Good practical and analytical skills
  • An inquisitive approach to product engineering and testing
