The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and experience specified below for this 6 month temporary contract based in the North West/Manchester. Please Note: This assignment sits inside of IR35.
Job Description:Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards; Summarise current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports; Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice; Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA qualification
Key Tasks & Deliverables:Management Accountant • Prepare the monthly set of management accounts for the Agency • Regular liaison with business partners to review and challenge current expenditure, variances from budget and forecasts for the remainder of the financial year. Amendment of forecasts to incorporate variances and provision of explanations for said variances. • Assist in the implementation of changes to the Agency's month-end process, including producing the Agency management accounts and EPM reporting. • Support the Head of Management Accounting in relation to the in-year elements of the BIS quarterly review of the Agency's financial performance (looking at current expenditure, variances and forecasts). • Work with the Financial Accounting and Business Partnering teams to ensure that monthly corporate financial reporting (both internally and to BEIS) are consistent and robust. • Work alongside the Financial Accounting team to support tight deadlines for production of statutory reporting at interim and final audits, specifically regarding complex, high risk and material income policies and balances.
Experience Required:Day-to-day management of the management accounts cycle. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Public Sector Experience

The lower pay rate advertised in this job description is the highest daily PAYE pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to. The higher pay rate advertised in this job description is the highest daily umbrella company pay rate that the client is willing to pay up to.
