My client is seeking an SCU Claims Handler to work in our Special Claims Unit (SCU) team, which manages the investigation of third party motor claims which show a level of fraud indicators.
You will do this by:
Delivering a positive customer experience by communicating with our stakeholders in a helpful, proactive and professional manner
Considering and investigating, where appropriate, files referred to the section with a view to detecting fraudulent/potentially fraudulent claims made upon the Bureau
Identifying those claims, which are genuine at the earliest stage where possible and return to the appropriate section for continued handling
The successful candidate will already have a level 3 of the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF), which is equivalent to: 2 pass grades in A-levels, CII Level 3 Certificate, ICFS Level 3 Certificate of Attainment in Accredited Counter Fraud Technician or NVQ Level 3 .
You should also have:
Full sign off on Untraced Rejections and Formal Awards
Thorough knowledge of motor insurance and claims principles gained through operating as a claims handler with personal injury and property damage experience
A good working knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
An interest in anti-fraud work demonstrated by a general understanding of fraud issues, trends and publicised market initiatives
Ideally experience of anti-fraud data systems and databases and being able to interpret the output
High degree of competence in the use of on-line search facilities (e.g. Experian, Equifax etc.)
Experience in insurance or similar financial services environment is desirable.
