With a history expanding near to 100 years and ties to the great inventor Thomas Edison, my client is a globally recognised brand within the foam manufacturing industry. Operating in both the UK and US they are a world leader in cellular material technology, producing lightweight foams for the likes of Red bull, BMW, Unilever and Mizuno. Their products can be seen in football boots, surfboards and cars and on average they are producing around 7000 units per week.
Due to a sustained period of growth, turning over around 60 million pounds annually my client is looking to heavily invest in both their plant and their team. This has produced a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
About the role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining industrial plastic foam manufacturing equipment. You will carry out both reactive and preventive scheduled electro mechanical maintenance, fault find and record and report machine defects.
Some of the equipment you will be responsible for maintaining are as followed;
- High pressure equipment
- Thermal oil heaters
- High pressure nitrogen tanks
- Water cooling systems
- Cooling towers
Finally, you will be responsible for helping the team move from a ‘repair culture’ to an ‘improvement culture’.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will have a minimum of 2 years’ practical experience working in a high-pressure environment where a large volume of units is produced per week. You will be electrically biased holding a nationally recognised qualification, however you must be comfortable working with mechanical components.
You should have an understanding and knowledge of SCADA and automated systems, be forward thinking, proactive and have strong problem-solving skills.
