Service Manager (Engineering) Ripon area, £competitive

An established business is recruiting for an experienced Service Manager (Engineering) to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified, multiskilled engineer with proven experience in a Service Manager or similar role. This is a demanding role in a fast-paced sales organisation for a commercially astute individual with first rate communication skills and customer service expertise. You will be an effective line manager accustomed to

Key responsibilities:

• Taking ownership of customer issues, providing technical support and following them through to resolution ensuring proactive liaison for the best customer experience

• Managing the engineering diary, scheduling jobs to meet customer expectations, prioritizing customer visits and allocating the required resources

• Producing technical documents to aid the safe and efficient operation of the engineering team

• Managing and mentoring the engineering team and overseeing contracting teams

• Overseeing training and development of the engineering team

• Tracking spend against the engineering team budget

• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation

• Supporting senior management with delivery of organizational improvements

• Producing weekly reports for management review

Working towards the achievement of agreed personal targets

Managing team performance against shared targets

Skill requirements:

• Hold a full UK driving licence

• Be a proficient IT user (Outlook, Word, CRRM/ERP-type systems)

• Be comfortable with occasional overnight stays

• Be flexible in your approach to work and willing to occasionally handle customer issues out of hours

• Hold a professional leadership or management qualification (desirable)

• Be 17th edition IEE Wiring Regulations certified (desirable)

• Hold the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (desirable)

Hours of work: Monday-Thursday 8-5pm, Friday 8-3.30pm
