Process Engineer: Bradford

£30,000-£40,000

Major Technical is working in partnership with a UK manufacturer to recruit a Process Engineer to join their facility in Bradford.

Overall Purpose:

  • To develop and introduce new manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities in order to increase capacity and throughput, improve safety and product quality and reduce manufacturing costs
  • To support, develop and improve current manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities in order to increase capacity and throughput, improve safety and product quality and reduce manufacturing costs
  • To support the introduction of new products to ensure that manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities are capable of and effective in the delivery of required outputs
  • To support the development of a modern continuous improvement and lean manufacturing culture within the organisation

Key Responsibilities:

For new manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities:

  • To understand, define and specify requirements
  • To identify and assess potential suppliers
  • To negotiate and agree costs within budget targets
  • To develop capital expenditure requests and plans
  • To manage successful implementation

For current manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities:

  • To analyse and understand current performance
  • To identify waste and opportunities for cost reductions
  • To develop solutions for removing waste and cost
  • To develop improvement proposals and plans
  • To manage the successful implementation

For new product introductions:

  • To understand and assess the requirements for new or improved manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities
  • To develop and implement plans that deliver these requirements on time and within budget targets

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or HNC in relevant engineering discipline, or qualified by experience
  • excellent manufacturing engineering experience
  • proven project management capability
  • demonstrated lean manufacturing and continuous improvement application
  • team working
  • structured problem solving
  • proficient with AutoCad or similar drafting package
