Prototype Technician - 3D Printing - Cambridge

A fast-growing, dynamic technology company are looking for experienced model makers and prototype technicians to join their rapid prototyping team and work with 3D printing and CNC machines.

You will be working within the company's world-class multidisciplinary team on major development projects and new technologies, you will be responsible for developing a range of products using a number of materials and model making methods.

As a prototype technician you will be challenged to create accurate prototypes with the aim of proving the new design concept and solution. You will be taking lead on projects using both traditional workshop tools and new rapid prototyping technologies. You will be charged with carrying out lab experimental and mechanical work and also assembling test rigs and prototypes.

You will need to have hands-on experience of using 3D printers and machining highly accurate parts from a variety of materials. This will need to be coupled with lathes and mills experience. This knowledge will hopefully be backed up with a HNC or BTEC and any injection moulding expertise would be highly advantageous.
