Salary £16,853 - £18,273

Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

They are now looking to recruit a Motorsport Technician to join them to maintain and repair curriculum vehicles and machinery and prepare and set up equipment requested for practical teaching. This is a fixed term role until July 2018.

Developing and fabricating equipment for teaching, you will maintain pressure vessels, welding equipment and lifting gear in compliance with current legislation and assess students on practical competencies as required.

You must also ensure that equipment and teaching areas are in a working, clean and safe condition and transport students and equipment using College vehicles and trailers.

With a suitable qualification in Engineering at level 2 or above, candidates will have previous experience of academic support in a workshop environment and of vehicle and equipment maintenance. Good welding / fabrication skills are essential and you must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines and demonstrate good interpersonal skills.

Although not essential, a D32 / D33 and / or teaching qualification would be desirable.
