The Role

Our client is looking to appoint a bright Equipment Development Engineer to build, develop, test, install and commission wafer bonding machines.
This exciting opportunity is a wide ranging and varied role.
Wafer bonding machines are complex, involving: Vacuum pumps, vacuum chambers, heaters, precision motors, cameras, optics, hydraulics, high voltage, plasmas, all SW controlled.

Furthermore the role covers;
• Input to machine improvement with reference to build and performance.
• Updating documentation e.g. build doc for bonder assembly, testing and commissioning documents, stock records.

Requirements (Skills, Experience, Qualifications necessary)

• Practical experience of either semiconductor or vacuum equipment & instrumentation.
• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree or HNC or similar or extensive job related experience. Strong Engineering; Mechanical, Production or Electrical Engineering back ground
• Hands on experience of wiring & electro mechanical assembly and practical knowledge of either semiconductor or vacuum systems
• Experience of the manufacturing of low volume, high tech precision Electro-mechanical equipment. At home working with Quality systems

Special requirements

• Able to work unsupervised when required and travel abroad when required
• At home working with Quality systems such as: ISO9001

Key Skills
• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree or HNC or similar or extensive job related experience. Strong Engineering; Mechanical, Production or Electrical Engineering back ground
• Practical experience of either semiconductor or vacuum equipment & instrumentation.
• Comfortable being part of a team, getting involved and helping out as required, but also able to work without close supervision.
