Job Title Management Accountant – UK Supply

Based Didsbury,Manchester

Purpose of role

To assist with all aspects of financial management for the Ethanol trading book and assist with data preparation and analysis of Gasoline and Distillate product books where required.

Main duties of the role

·Management Accounting & Reporting – Assist with preparation of management accounts to ensure the team complies with the group timetable. Specific responsibility for certain areas including posting of stock journals and preparation of mark-to-market journals.

·Middle office to back office reconciliation – Understand the way the business reports its results internally, via the middle office team, and how those results translate to back office accounting and the general ledger.

·Middle office actualisations – monitor mark-to-market data on a weekly basis and communicate any required actualisations with middle office.

·Sales analysis – assist with reconciliation of sales by volume and value each month to ensure accurate billings and income recognition.

·Relationship Management - Build strong relationships within Fuels finance function and the middle office team.

·Business Planning & Financial Analysis – Assist the Reporting Manager as required.

Required competencies

·Actively studying for a professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

·Possesses and demonstrates real analytical skill and can apply a logical approach to new challenges

·Be a strong communicator and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business and across various teams

·Have a questioning and inquisitive mind – not afraid to ask questions or challenge convention, nor to drive improvements and efficiencies as appropriate

·Able to analyse and interpret significant quantities of financial data and relate back to business issues.

·Be flexible and adaptable, understand the overall goals of the team and actively seek to help achieve them

·Ambitious, enthusiastic and looking to progress within a reputable and fast moving organisation
