An exciting three-year rotational Finance graduate scheme opportunity has arisen here at the New Look head office based in Weymouth. Finance is a fundamental part of New Look. Not only is this department responsible for processing transactions to keep the ‘cogs’ of the business turning and tracking and reporting the performance of the business, it’s also where the management team goes for insight and guidance. As part of this programme, we’re looking for future leaders who can operate in this fast-paced, high performing environment.

As a Finance Graduate you'll be spending time on the following departments, INCLUDING:

Core Finance

As the name suggests this team is at the heart of the finance department and is responsible for making sure that the Group’s accounting records are accurate, complete and comply with our reporting obligations. The team covers a wide range of roles and responsibilities, from processing invoices in to the technical accounting involved in producing the Group’s consolidated statutory accounts, and working closely with external auditors in the Core Accounting Team.This placement will provide you with a firm understanding of the finance function, including the systems we rely on use and the data we analyse and review throughout the business.Group Treasury and Investor Relations

The Group Treasury function is concerned with the overall management of financial risk at a group level. The purpose of the Group Treasury department is to manage the core risk areas of foreign exchange (“FX”), interest rate, liquidity, operational and counterparty risks within the group in the most efficient and effective way adhering to group policy in order to protect the company against extreme price volatility and adverse impacts to the financial stability of the Group. Key stakeholders for the Group Treasury team include the finance team (Core, BMD, Tax, Commercial, FP&A), company secretarial, in-house legal and various other departments – external stakeholders include relationship banks, auditors, legal counsel, rating agencies, credit insurers, facility agents, notes trustee, Luxembourg Stock Exchange, debt investors and finally our shareholders. Investor Relations is responsible for the timely reporting and management of our Investor base to ensure the Group is compliant with its reporting covenants under the terms of its borrowing facilities and supports communications to all our relevant stakeholders.Tax

The Tax Team are one of the smallest in size on the finance floor, but manage the 3rd biggest cost in the business. They’re responsible for corporate, VAT and employment tax for the Group. Tax has recently had an increased profile in the press and New Look needs to be seen to be paying the correct amount of tax in all of the territories we operate in. We report taxes in 28 different countries filing more than 400 tax returns a year.Business Partners

A finance business partner (FBP) works alongside other business areas, supporting and advising their strategic and operational decision-making through insights that drive better business performance. FBPs are needed across all business functions, from HR to retail.Financial Planning & Analysis Department

The role of Financial Planning and Analysis is to provide accurate, timely, high quality financial analysis and advice to senior management , directors, executive and non-executive directors and (externally) to Investors. This placement will provide you with a firm understanding of the role finance can play in guiding the business on strategic direction, including suggesting corrective action to keep strategy on track.WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
