Structural Project Engineer
Role: Project Structural Engineer (x2)
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000
I am looking to place two Project Engineers with a Structural Engineer background in a consultancy’s London office. The firm is relatively new within the industry, but is the product of ex-international directors who have set up their own firm, using their previous industry knowledge and partners to deliver engineering excellence to a range of clients. A recent string of successes has led to a need for two new project engineers who can oversee the detailed design of a 240-unit residential block in Croydon and one of a similar size on Woking. These are the most pressing projects that require oversight, with many more in other sectors.
The firm has signed a 5-year contract with a major modular fabricator using a new hot and cold steel bonding method that results in incredibly light but durable steel structures. Previous experience of design in this method is not a requirement, but an appreciation or an interest in this area of work would be beneficial to the firm, and would be a good opportunity for someone to develop their knowledge in this area of design/construction.
This post is for an engineer who can manage their own projects, with the opportunity to work remotely for some portions of the working week, though trips to oversee other technical designers and mentor more junior engineers at London office will sometimes be required.
Job Requirements:·C.Eng IStructE/ICE (desirable)·Relevant education in Structural Engineering·Modular/volumetric structural design experience·Light steel frame experience·Beam/connection design + load bearing calculations·Commutable proximity to Birmingham/London·Team leadership/mentorship experience·Project Engineering experience
