Newport Transport is one of the biggest employers in the City of Newport. As the umbrella company of Newport Bus we are also the City's principal bus operator with a network serving Cardiff, Torfaen and Monmouthshire.

Engineers make up an essential part of our team and are responsible for ensuring our fleet of vehicles are safe for our customers and meet regulatory standards as a minimum. Our expanding workshop also has a number of third party customers who use our engineering services for their vehicles.

We are looking for a skilled PCV technician/mechanic who is able to deliver excellent results at our City Centre depot.

The successful applicant will have experience of working within PCV or HGV vehicle engineering with a C&G Level 3 or equivalent NVQ qualification. You will need to posses excellent diagnostic skills and carry out required repairs efficiently. Must be capable of inspecting vehicles to both DVSA and company standards while working under their own initiative.

It would also be beneficial to have an HGV/PCV licence and irtec accreditation; however these are not essential as training can be given for the right candidate.

In return the company offers;

  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Up to 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)

  • Excellent development opportunities
  • Free bus travel for yourself, partner and eligible children

If you have the experience and qualifications necessary for this role and want to work in a rewarding career with a great team of employees then we would like to hear from you.

N.B. We always handle your Personal Information in confidence - we will not share your application with any third party, nor will we contact your existing employer at this initial stage of the application process.
