Salary circa £32,600 plus on call allowance circa £800

Salary will increase to Circa £36,000 after 24 months, subject to satisfactory development of skills and performance within the role.

An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Technician to join the Day Electrical Engineering team based at the Greengate Site, responsible for all aspects of the maintenance on the Greengate Float Line and all associated plant, buildings, services and vehicles.The successful applicant may in future be required to work at either Float Manufacturing sites to satisfy operational requirements.

Within the role you will carry out planned preventative maintenance on a variety of automated machinery including conveyors, temperature and process control, stacking equipment along with fault finding and diagnostics in emergency breakdown or planned situations.Modifying and improving plant, you must identify and eliminate hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.

Candidates should have completed a relevant Engineering apprenticeship and be qualified to NVQ level 3 coupled with proven experience within a similar Technical role. With the ability to read electrical/engineering drawings and excellent fault-finding skills, you must also have a good working knowledge of PLC's, HMI’s, SCADA systems, Instrumentation, Relays & Variable Speed Drives.

It will be necessary to work unsupervised for extended periods and be capable of identifying, generating and managing own workload which will involve effective communication with Supervision and members of other areas. Direct support of the Manufacturing operation is essential within the current agreements.

Applicants must be willing to be flexible in order to respond to changes in priority or emergency situations and be willing to join the on-call team to provide out of hours coverage in line with the needs of the process.
