Due to excellent continued growth, TWO exciting vacancies have now arisen for a competent lighting designer / lighting engineer / lighting applications specialist to join a highly reputable manufacturer that delivers an enviable portfolio of systems and services to both private and public sector customers.

THE ROLE: As the successful Lighting Engineer you will be ultimately responsible for producing both new designs and amendments for external lighting projects in accordance with customer requirements and associated quality standards, and to guide in best practice and products to achieve them.

Key duties:

  • To gain an in-depth product knowledge on both performance and suitability and be aware of the environmental impacts of lighting
  • To produce lighting schemes to customer specification
  • To be aware of the environmental impacts of lighting
  • To provide lighting design guidance to both the internal and external sales teams
  • To design lighting schemes in accordance with lighting industry specifications
  • To produce BREEAM reports to accompany designs
  • Reporting into the Lighting Applications Manager / Technical Deign / Project Manager lead
  • Support external sales team with customer and site visits and provide assistance to other departments as and when requested

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal lighting engineer / lighting designer / lighting engineer / lighting applications specialist will be a professional, personable and proactive individual, and have:

  • A relevant degree (LIA) or ILP Qualification by experience - essential
  • Excellent knowledge of CAD systems and understanding of BREEAM - essential
  • Experience in / good understanding of all aspects (product, design knowledge) of exterior lighting (i.e. Car Parking, Roads, Sports, High Masts and architectural applications) - essential
  • Knowledge of photometric data and optics - highly desirable
  • The ability to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines
  • Good Team work skills and literacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of AGi32 software would also be beneficial - highly advantageous for this position. Training can and will be provided however if no previous experience
