JW199 - Testing Engineer (Lifting Equipment / LEEA)

Field based around Birmingham

Salary £25,000 to £33,000 + Van & excellent benefits

To be considered for this role, candidates need to have proven experience of working with and testing lifting equipment, must have LEEA (part 1 at the very minimum) and experience working with LOLER and/or PUWER regulations.

The purpose of this role is to test and certify lifting equipment, providing advice dependent on the outcome.

Duties

  • Interpret and advise customers and engineers on complex engineering aspects of lifting equipment and other mechanical handling equipment, relevant codes and standards, material properties, thorough examination, testing, non-destructive examination
  • Interpret and advise on design aspects related to LOLER, PUWER, CE Marking
  • Preparation and verification of design calculations and technical reports
  • Advise on technical and regulatory requirements
  • Carry out onsite technical audits as required
  • Support preparation of tenders, proposals and programmes for work for new and existing customers
  • Attend technical discussions with representatives from commercial, nuclear and defence facilities
  • Support safety case and hazard identification assessments
  • Project manage activities
  • Workshop and Yard is clean, organised and tidy
  • Identify possible TIC (test inspect certify) customers for LSE to develop
  • Ensure all site inspection paperwork is correct and signed
