Your new company
A global organisation based in Portsmouth are looking to expand there Credit Control function by recruiting a Credit Controller.

Your new role

You will allocate payments to customer accounts on daily basis.Post credit card payments.Liaise with Orders and Sales departments to ensure accuracy of information provided, check sales orders for correctness and post invoices accordingly. Create and distribute inter-company invoices.You will also send out and monitor monthly customer statements, issue reminders to customers and participate in customer balance reconciliation. Ensure debts are paid in a timely manner and reduce debtor days by proactively chasing debt by telephone and email, maintaining accurate records of all chasing activity. Investigate and resolve queries relating to non-payment of debt. Prepare weekly aged debt report. To Respond in a timely manner to external and internal queries regarding customer accounts and accounts receivable process. Provide ad-hoc reporting as required. Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliation in relation to receivables balances where required.


What you'll need to succeed

Basic knowledge of accounting rules and principles, at least 2 years' experience working in Accounts Receivable/Sales Ledger. Knowledge of credit controlling methodology and at least 2 years' practical experience. Experience with Microsoft Navision preferred but not essential. Experience with other ERP systems desired. Experience in a global, multi-location, multi-currency business would be advantageous. Advanced PC user, including Microsoft Office, primarily Excel. Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Strong organisational and time management skills. A proactive, professional and tenacious approach to chasing debt, including strong email etiquette knowledge. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deal across different functions, service lines and geographical locations.
