Purchase Ledger Clerk

Bristol

£16,000 - £18,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our established international client. Reporting to the Processing Supervisor, this role will be based in their Bristol office and will primarily be supporting existing business within the company.

Key Tasks:

  • Receiving, coding, posting of purchase invoices with a high degree of accuracy, minimising errors
  • Meeting your daily processing targets - 120 invoices per day
  • Setting up new suppliers onto the finance system with a high degree of accuracy to ensure they are correctly setup for VAT, GL coding, ledger owner, banking and remittance information and in the correct entity
  • Processing Invoices in the required time frame -Urgent Invoices processed within 24 hours and non-urgent within 3 days
  • No processing of duplicated invoices or statements onto the purchase ledger
  • Ensuring correct addressing on invoices, challenging suppliers to correct
  • No manual adjustments on allocated tidy up accounts (non-black list suppliers)
  • Purchase Ledger closed monthly by end WD4
  • Utilising the scanning software for efficient invoice processing and flagging any issues as they arise
  • Clearing all batches and ebis queues by the end of each day
  • Completing all allocated Statement reconciliations on a monthly basis by w/d 5. Passing any outstanding actions arising from those statement reconciliations onto the ledger owner to action
  • Filing up to date daily
  • Any other tasks as directed

Skills & Experience:

  • Currently studying AAT/AAT qualified (or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Confident of dealing with a high volume workload
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Flexible approach to work
  • A strong team ethic
  • Experience of Open Accounts would be an advantage
  • Excel skills including V look ups and pivot tables desirable
