We are currently seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to join the Retail Finance team in our Central London head office.

Liaising with internal business partners such as eCommerce, Retail Operations and Merchandising, you will be an excellent communicator to those in both finance and non-finance functions and have the ability to take the lead in meetings with members of management across the business.


This role will involve:

  • supporting the Head of Retail Finance and deputising in their absence
  • finance business partner to ecommerce and Retail operations teams (Regional controllers, Area Managers and Retail Director)
  • playing a pivotal role in annual P&L Planning and Forecasting cycle alongside department Management Accountant
  • leading finance systems implementations, working with IT to ensure system is fit for purpose
  • support finance analyst with daily, weekly sales reporting process
  • management of store targets setting process and bonus payments
  • producing insightful business development appraisals, including new stores, partners, etc.
  • providing value add and insightful commentary in communications sent out to the business
  • ownership of CAPEX budget setting and tracking, including attending weekly property meetings
  • ensuring all reporting is suitable to business needs and is adapted when necessary
  • having the initiative to pick up and resolve issues and queries as and when they arise
  • involvement in ad hoc projects

    The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

    retail / FMCG experience (preferable)a strong academic background qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA)excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • business partnering skills with non-finance functions
  • initiative and drive, with a flexible outlook and ‘can do’ attitude
  • ability to prioritise workload taking into account business priorities
  • exceptional planning and organising skills, with the proven ability to effectively manage a varied and challenging workload
  • the ability to multitask, maintain focus under pressure and ensure accuracy and attention to detail at all times
  • strong relationship building skills, with the proven ability to effectively influence senior stakeholders
  • line management skills, with experience of managing junior colleagues in a fast paced, deadline driven environment (preferable)
