Project Quantity Surveyor - Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4AQ Paying between £36,500 and £43,000 per annum Job Purpose: The role is to support the bid and delivery of construction/refurbishment projects across the Babcock Infrastructure Business Unit and external clients as required. This role will also support other bids and/or pricing as required. The PQS’s involvement shall include (but not be limited to): Change control Programme management Risk management Contractual compliance and management Commercial and financial reporting Final Accounts Job Responsibilities: Support the MPT and Business Development with bidding and pricing where required, including: Pricing support Review of specification and requirements Sourcing and management of supply chain and consultants Provision and presentation of bid in order to obtain approval to proceed Legal and contract review, including with supply chain Identification of and pricing of risk Preparation of bid documentation Completing PQQ documentation Provide Commercial support to existing contracts Financial performance of projects under his/her control Where required, ensure preparation, submission and agreement of Final Accounts Manage and monitor the contractual responsibilities (including compliance and any disputes) of customers, supply chain partners, suppliers and contractors. To ensure Change Orders are documented, agreed and processed in a timely manner To authorise Milestone payments and ensure Milestone payments are submitted on time To ensure financial close-out of projects within contract timeframe Provide Financial reports on progress and liabilities, including reports on outturn, profit Provide commercial status reports on live projects Ensure the correct filing of all documentation Ensure that projects are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications: Essential Has obtained an RISC accredited BSc (Hons) degree in a relevant subject Already obtained or in the process of achieving membership status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - MRICS Must be able to gain MoD clearance Skills/Experience Essential Has 3 to 5 years relevant experience within the construction industry Proven track record for successfully delivering projects Willing to work at National and International locations Willing to work away from home for long durations e.g. project delivery phase (when necessary) Pre-construction and involvement in bids Has a proven track record with managing projects from cradle to grave Experience in cost reporting, including cost reporting and Final Accounts Good understanding of various suits of contracts - JCT, NEC and other forms of construction contracts in the building A good understanding of the principles of Risk Management Good communication skills - both written and verbal Good IT skills - MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project Desirable Worked for medium/large companies Working for contracting or consultancy organisations Considerations/Requirements: Driving license required. Will be expected to travel around Infrastructure sites and offices as required to fulfil the role. Has a home location that is well suited to the role’s location or is prepared to travel or relocate in order to minimise where possible the carbon footprint.
