The Windows System Analyst role exists to implement functionality improvements and project work for the Internal IT department. This role will act an escalation point for all internal IT queries.

An average day will be diverse and offer an opportunity to learn a multitude of technologies based on the Microsoft Windows platform. You will be investigating and resolving a variety of requests working with various teams, with a strong focus on project work. This role is suited to an individual who is keen to learn and develop but enjoys owning a problem, and seeing it through to resolution.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage the escalations queue to ensure service requests and incidents across the Microsoft estate are dealt with in a timely mannerMonitoring and managing server resources (disk space, CPU, event logs, etc.)Monitoring and managing machine backups using NetBackupParticipate in the support of a number of infrastructure and business applications running on windows platformsDocument and manage Windows Server procedures for the Service Desk including backup and restore procedures, application rollout, etc.Troubleshooting of failures and responding to security incidentsOn call infrastructure support occasional out of hours work for updates, incidents and fixes is expectedEssential Skills & Experience:

5 years+ working in an Enterprise environment supporting Windows Server 2012, 2012R2, 2016Active Directory administration and DesignExperience of working in a mission critical datacentreWorking in a change control environmentGood working knowledge of Exchange and Skype for Business serverVMware vSphereSystem monitoring e.g. NagiosPowerShell, PS scriptingAbility to work and perform in a highly pressurised environmentGood numerical skillsOrganised, works to and meets deadlinesGood attention to detailDesirable Skills & Experience:

SCCM 2012/2016Exchange– advanced knowledgeHyper converged InfrastructureVMWare HorizonVeritas Enterprise VaultExperience of working in a ‘no downtime’ environmentWork in a financial services environmentEnterprise Security awarenessExperience of security products (McAfee, Websense, etc.)Understanding of SLAs/OLAs Knowledge of SAN and vSan technologiesDegree educatedMCSE or above in Microsoft Server TechnologiesITIL FoundationStrong verbal communication skillsStrong written documentation of solutionsAbility to analyse and problem solvePatient, diligent and diplomaticProactive, resourceful and able to use initiativeWillingness to learn, develop, and keep abreast of technological developments
