We are looking for a Solution Architect based in our Watford office. This is a high-profile role giving the successful applicant the chance to lead in the delivery of high quality solution and detailed technical designs, to well established UK businesses. The primary role will be leading the technical design team and working closely with analysts, developers and business stakeholders to delivery viable, high quality design documents to the development and build teams. The candidate should be able to effectively align Business, Data, Application and underlying Technology to implement client solutions.
Key Responsibilities:Project planning & estimation, work allocation and decision making (technical, design & team based)System and technical design for new and existing Digital software applications.Document and communicate the technical design. Be the technical owner and guru of the architectural solution.Design system architecture and integration with 3rd party software systemsDesign integration strategies into back-end (legacy) systems.Able to take a lead in workshops and influence business and technical decisions on the solution.Take accountability and responsibility for the solution and technical designEffectively communicate architectural design through to developers.Liaise with customers face to face, deliver client presentations and run technical design workshopsBuild best practices with regards to technical designYou…

The techy bit….we need you to be really great at:At least five years design experience in highly complex enterprise scale Java/J2EE based environments ideally in an eCommerce environment. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of software development methodology using J2EE, full project lifecycle and a structured approach to designExperience of using the following technologies: - Java, J2EE, JSON, Restful web services, SOA Application Design, MySQL, Proven experience of design, implementation and delivery of software systems into production.Thorough understanding of capacity and performance issues.Must be driven, pragmatic and focused on project delivery.
