Lead Technical Service Engineer

As our new Lead Technical Service Engineer you'll provide the technical expertise needed to support day-to-day back-office and desktop operations of the TBX groups Nottingham office.

You will lead efforts to maintain and audit a rapidly growing network topology that must meet the needs of a challenging set of development, operations and business requirements. The Lead Technical Service Engineer expected to demonstrate innovative approaches to solving the unique challenges encountered and be able to maintain the security and integrity of the EUC & network environments.

The ideal candidate has a very strong understanding of all Desktop, Sever, core LAN and WAN networking concepts, experience managing and monitoring network devices along with knowledge of advanced and leading edge technologies.

Essential functions of the Lead Technical Service Engineer
Assist with all EUC security activities relating to the Nottingham officeAssist with the continual improvement programProvide oversight for local site engineers and contractors based in NottinghamTechnical site lead and point of contact for all escalation in Nottingham, while providing technical support to EU countries as and when required.Manages the IT needs of the end user environment in Nottingham, including laptops, back-office servers, NetApp Storage Devices, ShoreTel telephony environment, LANBuild excellent working relations with your internal VIP customers, acting as an ambassador for End User Computing services and ITEnsures processes for new hire installs, exits, replacements, upgrades, printer installs and other hardware/software related tasks are completed by staff members as required.Optimise the support arrangements with existing and new service providers to ensure the technology support continues to meet business need.Lead delivery of new technology projects by acting as a pilot and delivering support models that ensure that technology tools meet business need.Essential understandings of WAN/LAN/DNS/Windows/Remote access/security technologies Support of other UK&I sites may be required

Experience required for Lead Technical Service Engineer:
1-2yrs Managing or performing a team lead role within an IT environment2-3yrs Administrating Windows Server Environment3-4yrs Desktop support for end users (Windows 10)1-2yrs Office 365 exposure1-2 years of mobility device and MDM experience 1-2yrs firewall (Cisco ASA, Juniper, Check Point) - two out of the three would be preferred1-2yrs of enterprise wireless support (Cisco, Aruba) ; both is a +plus4-7 years' experience of multiple varied technology in a support related role4-7 years Customer facing experience in a support related capacityEvidence of Desktop and Networking support rolesDegree level education or equivalent work-based experience
