The Role

Working within the EDQ (Enterprise Data Quality) Product Development team within the Oracle Fusion Middleware Organization, the role focuses on the development of the Data Quality and Data Governance components in the company’s new Data Integration Platform Cloud (DIPC) service, which is in the early stages of development.

Whilst this is primarily a Java developer role, the position will encompass a range of activities, including analysis, design and testing at all levels. A willingness to take on a variety of different types of task and adapt to a dynamic and changing environment is key. In addition, the UI part of the product is written in JET (Oracle's Javascript Extension Toolkit), and therefore significant Javascript experience and/or a willingness to work in this area would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

Java and/or Javascript codingUnit and integration testingAnalysis and design, including UI design where necessaryDefining interfaces and integration mechanisms between DIPC and other Oracle productsReviewing deliverables produced by other staff’s design documents and source codeResponding to issues and bugs raised by the QA or support teamsConforming to software development standards and proceduresProviding feedback on development tools and procedures and suggestions as to where improvements can be madeRelationships within the Company

Line management and appraisal by the EDQ Development DirectorCollaboration with product management, other members of the DQ Scrum team (who are distributed across Europe and India), and other DIPC Scrum teamsGeneral interactions with remote product development staff in other parts of Oracle, in particular in India and the US (although note that actual travel is not expected)Location

Required Qualifications and Experience

·Degree educated with a minimum of 3 years experience

·Experience of either software product development, or development and maintenance of a long life in-house system

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
