Event Manager position for a prestigious international law firm. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract, and will be responsible for driving the firm's client facing event services. Managing a team of 4, you will work closely with the partners and other members of marketing & business development team to provide event solutions that contribute to the firm's business strategy, raise the firm's profile and create impactful client experiences.

The firm's Events Department organises a wide range of client-focused events including thought leadership conferences, seminars, social events and activities, corporate hospitality experiences as well as supporting organised or sponsored conferences and exhibitions. Responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively train, appraise and motivate the team to encourage high performance and continual development of the team
  • Guide on the production and delivery of projects from proposal right up to delivery
  • Identify and drive forward new initiatives and projects
  • Represent the organisation at external industry events as a key influencer on industry best practices
  • Work closely with, and maintain relationships with, other key function heads to ensure the on-going smooth delivery of events
  • Oversee the allocation of events within the team, manage team capacity and bring in external resources where required
  • Maintain a best practice approach to event project management
  • Manage major London office events
  • Be involved in the submission of budget proposals annually both for the Events team and also for the events as mentioned immediately above

This is a hands-on role and will therefore suit an individual with excellent planning and organisational skills, and enjoys both the strategy and tactical delivery of events. The successful candidate will thrive on managing multiple projects, working to deadlines and be able to prioritise under pressure. Applicants must have proven event management, ideally within the legal sector or wider professional or financial services.
