Desktop Support Engineer


£36,000 per annum

My client is one of the world’s largest Construction companies who have offices in Glasgow and are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer. You will be responsible for providing second and third level support to customers whilst supporting the first / second line team to resolve issues acting as a point of escalation for more challenging issues.

  • Ensure that incidents are resolved in a timely manner to meet defined service level targets and to participate as a project resource as and when required.
  • Demonstrate expertise in all activities associated with providing end user PC support and problem resolution on complex and difficult PC hardware and software issues
  • Strong problem solving abilities and excellent communication, customer handling and inter-personal skills.
  • Strong planning, organising and prioritising abilities. Target focused, proactive and keen to spot opportunities to refine and improve processes and service
  • Deal direct with clients in a friendly and highly confident manner, demonstrating excellent internal and external customer communication skills.
  • Is self-starting, analytical, results and solutions-driven.
  • Be passionate about customers and service, with a strong will to make a difference.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic environment, prioritising and multi-tasking effective

We need someone to start in January for this role.

Experience Needed -

  • Proficiency in appropriate business language and ability to present ideas effectively.
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 / 2012 R2, Windows 7 / 8
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Active Directory / MS Exchange
  • Email security products, e.g. Networking knowledge covering LAN/vLAN/WAN technologies
  • HP Switch technology
  • Good knowledge of GPO deployment and configuration
