Job Title: Nursery Room Leader Location: Maidenhead, SL6 This vacancy is for a permanent position working term-time only Room Leader Salary: • £17,650.00 - £22,820.00 FTE per annum • £11,591.00 - £13,686.00 per annum + £524.00 per annum bonus Hours: Monday/Wednesday/Friday – Term Time Only – 8.00am to 4.00pm There is opportunity for additional hours within the school holidays (8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm) caring for children aged 3-8 years Job Description: What a unique opportunity for an experienced Room Leader to work 3 days per week, Term Time Only within a highly successful and respected Independent Preparatory School - to work with children aged 3 and 4 years. Currently recruiting for a hardworking, dynamic, creative, experienced “Room Leader” to work in this beautiful Nursery, set in idyllic surroundings with plenty of secure outdoor space. Room Leader Essential requirements: • A minimum of a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification • Strong working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework • Experience of observing, assessing and planning for children’s learning and development • Supervisory/Leadership experience • Ability to role model high quality practice • Ability to manage a team • Room Leaders of rooms with children aged under 2 must have experience of working with that age group Room Leader Daily/weekly routine • To be responsible, together with other staff in the room, for the creation of a stimulating and attractive environment both inside and outside, to meet the interests and challenge the needs of all children • To provide a warm and caring atmosphere for the children • To plan collaboratively for your room with other Room Leaders and the Head of Early Years during weekly planning meetings and to display these plans appropriately • To work as part of a team with shared responsibility to ensure staff are supervising children appropriately • To set up the classroom daily with other staff in the room, for any activities as set out on the weekly planning sheet • To take the register twice daily or ensure it is taken by another room member • To take individuals or small groups of children to teach an adult led activity or through play • To plan and deliver daily teacher input sessions, in consultation with other staff in the room and the Head of Early Years, which meet the needs of all of the children in the class • To serve snack or lunch to Nursery children and eat with them where required • To put up displays, as required, around Nursery and, where appropriate, to instruct Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants to do so • To escort children to the toilet and change nappies if required • To understand and be able to follow emergency procedures • In the absence of the Head of Early Years, to work closely with the cover teacher and communicate immediately with the Early Years Co-ordinator or SMT if any concerns that may arise Desirable: Pediatric First Aid Certificate, SENCO training, BECO Training, 2 years post qualifying experience, IT skills Transport Links: Excellent access to local transport links including train station and local bus route – there is plenty of free on-site parking for drivers Nursery , Room Leader , Room Senior , 3rd in Charge , Nursery Nurse , Nursery Practitioner , Early Years , Childcare , EYP , Early Years Practitioner - Nursery Nurse , Room Leader
