Water Hygiene Technician Hertfordshire – Field Based Permanent Salary: £20,000-£29,000 - Depending on experience + company vehicle + benefits The Role: My client who specialises within the Water Treatment industry are currently looking to recruit a mobile based Water Hygiene Technician to work as part of their Water Treatment & Legionella Control Team to cover the Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The role of the Water Hygiene Technician is to complete water hygiene services on behalf of my client’s company portfolio, ensuring that all works comply with the requirements of ACOP L8 & HSG274. The Water Hygiene Technician will be the primary point of contact for clients during works on site and are responsible for the Health and Safety aspects of activities as well as ensuring all required reports are completed in a professional and timely fashion Key Responsibilities: Carry out Legionella and TVC sampling and record results. Closed System Analysis To ensure that clients’ sites are provided with the appropriate water hygiene services and are compliant with all industry specific and Health & Safety legislation. Communicating with customers to ensure that all work completed is satisfactory. Conducting site surveys and preparing reports in a timely fashion for clients and Account Managers. Developing and maintaining relationships with key client personnel & all relevant stakeholders. Completing field documentation and reports and ensuring they are circulated to the relevant stakeholders within the required time frames. Maintaining equipment in accordance with any company or statutory prescribed inspection regime. Reporting any deficiencies or repairs required. Be pro-active in making recommendations to clients and/or Account Managers for improvements to existing systems. Responsible for maintaining an inventory of commonly required tools and spares for water hygiene works. Complies with all current legislation and any prevailing site rules. Works to achieve K.P. I’s and targets set and agreed with line manager. Maintaining and updating water industry knowledge. Liaising with the Water Hygiene Supervisor with regards to all technical issues and quotes. Knowledge and Experience Required: Full working knowledge of ACoP L8 and HSG274 Closed System Analysis experience Holder of current UK driving licence Holder of a relevant H&S qualification/passport At least one years’ experience in Legionella Control services to include: Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems Clean and disinfection techniques for cooling towers / water storage tanks / calorifiers /showers Inspection of cooling towers / water tanks
