Analyst  The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) distributes public money for higher education to universities and colleges in England, and ensures that this money is used to deliver the greatest benefit to students and the wider public.  Position: Analyst  Location: Bristol  Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (0.75 FTE will be considered)  Salary: £24,967 to £30,357 per annum  Benefits: include 25 days` annual leave, a comprehensive staff development programme, and the opportunity to join the Civil Service Pension scheme.  Closing date: 23:55pm on the 22nd January 2018  Shortlisting: 23 January 2018  Interviews: 30 January 2018  The successful candidate will either need to start on or before the 28th February 2018 or on or after 2nd April 2018.  About the role:  We are seeking to recruit an Analyst to join our supportive, enthusiastic, and high performing Analytical Services Directorate (ASD). Our Analysts apply a range of data analytics techniques to large sets of data in order to inform decision-makers in HEFCE and wider government.  You will assist in the development of the complex systems, processes and algorithms HEFCE requires to fund and regulate higher education. The role focuses on collecting and analysing data to support HEFCE`s regulatory function, including the HEFCE register and course designation for alternative providers. The role involves problem-solving, logical reasoning and incisive interpretation of data, rules and definitions.  We are seeking candidates who are numerate, think logically and have the ability to develop good analytical and programming skills.
