Mathematics Teacher - Independent Sixth Form College

Location: Central London
Start Date: February 2018
Timetable: Part-Time, 3 days/week
Contract: Fixed Term (to August 2018), possibly permanent thereafter

Our client, an independent sixth form college in the heart of London, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Mathematics Teacher to join their successful and thriving department.

The College: an independent sixth form college located in central London which caters to a predominantly international student base. There are roughly 250 students on roll. The college tutors for A-levels and the pupils achieve highly, gaining entry into the country's top universities. The college is part of a wider group of similar colleges around the UK and is well resourced, well funded and well governed.

The Role: to teach a reduced timetable of KS5 Maths AS, A2 and possibly some STEP maths. The contract will be a fixed term position starting in February and continuing until August. There may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to stay with the college thereafter on a permanent contract.

The Applicant: Maths is a popular subject at the college and applicants must be confident and fluent with the teaching content. Ideally, candidates will have a good degree in a relevant field and be experienced teachers with good track records for attainment. The successful applicant will be a dynamic and personable character with excellent communication skills. Experienced teaching KS5 pupils at A* level will be relevant, as will experience as a personal tutor.

"We are searching for a teacher of Maths to join our motivated and forward thinking teaching team. The ideal candidate would have enthusiasm, expertise and would actively participate and encourage extracurricular student development above and beyond outstanding success in the classroom. Despite this not being a permanent contract in the first instance, it is expected that candidates be wholly involved with this excellent school and its pupils."

The salary range is on the school's own generous scale and dependent on experience.

If you do have the relevant requirements and would like to be considered for this opportunity please send through your CV, or call Phil at Connaught for more information.
