I am recruiting for a policy manager for a professional body based in central London. Dedicated to the advancement of their cause, this association raises awareness in the public of both science and its application, and as the acknowledged experts in their field, they feed into a broad range of policy agendas such as Higher Education, evidence-based research, big data and open data, to name a few.
The Association has recently become more proactive in its contribution to the development of policies in these areas, and this year-long secondment will look after the association’s proactive policy program, working closely with senior management and key volunteers.
The post’s main focus will be policy development at a national level, including in education and academic affairs, and will continue the association’s work of informing government.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, ideally in statistics or mathematical science, with experience in evidence-based policy making, statistics or education.
You will also offer experience in policy development and influencing skills at ministerial level, and the ability to understand policy formation in new areas. Above all, you will be an excellent communicator, able to foster consensus and influence change with a wide variety of stakeholders.
