About the Role
A friendly one form entry Primary School in Barnet are looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 team to work as a Learning Support Assistant. This role will require you to work within a class of 30 children assisting the class teacher deliver the curriculum and ensure all pupils are engaged and learning during all lessons. Most your day will be spent supporting a pupil on a one to one basis who has been diagnosed with Autism. The child is very calm in nature and has very low self-esteem. The successful candidate will be caring and nurturing and help the child build confidence. The child struggles with numerical figures so requires the most support during Maths lessons. You will be working alongside a happy and motivated class teacher in a class of 30 happy and friendly pupils who will make school a very happy and enjoyable place for you. The pupils are bright and keen learners who respond well to support and guidance.

The one form entry Primary School is based in central Barnet, situated in spacious, attractive and quiet grounds. The schools aim is to provide all students with an outstanding education in an environment which nurtures the potential of each child. The school provide a wide curriculum for each child that caters specifically for individuals learning needs whilst still placing paramount importance on core subjects. School leaders also feel it is important to build strong relationships with parents and carers at home to help create higher standards of learning and the general wellbeing of all children in the school. The schools working hours are 8:30am - 16:00pm. The school is located close to a busy overground and underground station.

Requirements for the Role:
All applicants must have previous experience supporting pupils who have been diagnosed with Special Educational experience. Good knowledge of the UK curriculum is also required to be considered for this role including excellent understanding of maths.
Rate of Pay and Working hours:£70-£80 per day, working hours of 08:30am - 3:30pm

You must have recent and a minimum of six months experience working in primary schools. This experience must be relative to this role. If you do not have this experience we unfortunately will not be able to continue with your application
