Workshop Fitter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Plant Fitter to join our client at their very busy Depot in Dundee
Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Workshop Manager / Depot Foreman, the Workshop Fitter is responsible for the following:-
Repairing / overhauling and maintaining plant & tools, ensuring that customer breakdowns are dealt with in a timely manner to limit downtime, and machines are serviced in time to ensure hire commitments are met.
Ensuring all repair work necessary as a result of customer damage is recorded and paperwork is raised to ensure customer is charged appropriately.
Ensuring tools are used correctly, adequately maintained, tested before use, and securely stored.
Obtaining / requesting from stores all parts necessary to carry out repairs.
Salvaging usable parts from machines being repaired / scrapped.
Carrying out minor welding tasks on plant.
Carrying out minor painting to plant.
Carrying out minor electrical tasks on plant.
Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and timely
Wearing appropriate PPE and using safety equipment to complete the task undertaken
Maintaining a safe and hazard free work area
Checking company vehicles before use and driving in a safe and courteous manner, along with timely reporting of any vehicle defects.
Reporting any accidents (person, property or vehicles) via the Accident / Incident report system.
Carrying out any other duties as requested by immediate line manager or Director.
Candidate Skills
To be considered for this role if you will need to have a good working knowledge of Mechanics, Hydraulics and Electrical Diagnostics along with experience of working on the servicing, repair and Maintenance of:-
Mobile Plant
Site Dumpers
Excavators 20 Tonne and Compact Excavators
Compaction Equipment
Forklift Trucks
