A major international law firm is looking for a Business Development Executive, on a 12 month fixed term contract basis, to work directly with partners in the Real Estate practice and across Built Environment industry to provide pro-active marketing support and high quality services to fee earners such as business planning, pitch proposals, marketing collateral and other general BD tasks. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide high quality pro-active business development support in a timely and professional manner for partners across the RE practice and wider BE industry group
  • Maintain and give active qualitative input into the content of publications and promotional material, liaising with the design and editing team as necessary
  • Support the partners in developing new business through pitching, including providing background research, collating information on the firm's experience and producing a tailored credentials and proposal highlighting the legal team's expertise
  • Manage the production of pitches with great attention to detail and to agreed deadlines. Organise and manage rehearsals for presentations where necessary
  • Co-ordinate and manage industry memberships to maximise membership benefits and ensure good attendance at membership events, as well as hosting membership events as and when relevant to do so
  • Co-ordinate and support on the events schedule, including sourcing venues and booking rooms, liaising with internal and external suppliers based on requirements, handling guest list, invitation and RSVP process and on the day logistics
  • Assist the partners with their CRP duties, includes preparing and maintaining client relationship plans and client facing materials, and monitoring and reporting on client activity
  • Maintain BD systems such as Interaction and the firm's website
  • Ensure digital channels are maximised in support of BD initiatives and activities, liaise with the digital team where needed and report on analytics to measure success
  • Ensure all materials, pitch records, CVs, experience statements and contact and mailing lists are clean, up to date and easily accessible
  • Manage the distribution of promotional materials, including compilation of targeted mailing lists and managing logistics
  • Maintain marketing and BD calendars with all key events, directory submissions and publications, keeping key stakeholders updated
  • Assist with the co-ordination of director and league table submissions, ensuring all submissions are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Liaise with PR team to facilitate the generation of positive coverage of all relevant news items such as deals, lateral hires and awards

You will be analytical and intelligent and possess the ability to juggle a busy and varied workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. You will have dynamism and great all-round communication skills, a sense of humour and determination and commitment to ensure successful completion of projects. The Business Development Executive will also have previous experience working in a similar role within a professional services environment.
