The perfect candidate for this Maths Teaching assistant position will be a recent graduate with a Mathematics based degree. You will have ideally graduated with a 2:1 or higher from a top university. If you achieved a 2:2 in your degree but have previous tutoring or mentoring experience or any experience working with young people then you will be considered for this Maths Teaching Assistant position. A real passion for education and dedication to making a difference in young mathematicians loves is a must.
Maths Teaching Assistant- Job role
As a Maths teaching assistant you will be working with both small groups of learners as well as one-to-one with pupils who are underachieving in Maths. This Maths Teaching Assistant role may also involve working with gifted and talented students who are striving to achieve A/A* (8/9 under the new grading system) grades at GCSE to ensure they fulfil that potential. Your Maths Teaching Assistant role will involve working with disadvantaged learners who have specific intervention strategies to allow them to reach their target grades.
